We're excited to be developing a Facebook app for Save the Children. Facebook friends will soon be able to undertake fundraising projects such as building an entire classroom in some of the world's poorest communities. Gifts can also be purchased on behalf of friends and family as a unique way to celebrate any special occasion - birthdays, weddings - even christenings. Each Wish is divided into a number of shares, costing between £5 and £25 each. By getting together with friends to purchase the shares, it's a really effective way for a small donation to make a big difference. 7 friends can equip a school with books, paper and pens for a whole year for only £8 each. And for just £5 each, 11 friends can provide a fatherless family with 6 goats, giving them milk, meat and a sustainable income. The app will be available for download early November and is being developed jointly by us and Logicode.
